LG said it had filed the complaint along with its LED-manufacturing unit LG Innotek, and that it plans to take similar actions in other major markets including China and the United States.

Meanwhile, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) has led cherry treeagreed to investigate in early June, against LG and Samsung and various affiliates of the two Korean companies.

The complaints allege violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the United States and sale of certain LEDs and LED-containing products (such as LCD displays) that infringe patents asserted by Osram. The complainant requests that the USITC issue an exclusion order and cease-and-desist orders.

Nichia files patent infringement lawsuit against Hornbach
